Peter, DF6IN from Mannheim, Germany and a member of the G QRP Club, sent me this photograph of himself operating froma portable location. The rig shown was a home brew 7 mhz transceiver, 3 watts output on CW. Peter was using a 21m long wire with two 10m counterpoise wires.
He had several QSO's with this set up, including 2 way QRP contacts into England.
Peter also uses MFJ rigs, the MFJ 9020 for 20m and the 9040 for 40m CW.
He tells me how he has operated form a hunter's tower at temperatures of MINUS FOUR DEGREES CENTIGRADE! Now you know why I called him a 'Keen Backpacker'!
Thanks Peter for letting me have the photograph.
